Premier League Review 6th - 8th March
Manchester United moved into pole position with a gritty win over Wolves at Molineux, Arsenal kept themselves firmly in the title hunt with a comfortable win over Burnley at the Emirates whilst Liverpool's chase of the highly coveted Champions League spot was dealt a huge blow as the were overcome by Wigan at the DW Stadium on Monday night.

Paul Scholes' 100th Premier League goal was enough for Manchester United to win 1-0 at Wolves on Saturday and leapfrog back into top spot. Scholes settled a tense encounter at Molineux 17 minutes from time, when he kept a cool head to beat Marcus Hahnemann after Jody Craddock's clearance had fallen nicely for the veteran midfielder.

Theo Walcott silenced his critics with a fine strike as Arsenal closed in on the top of the Premier League after a 3-1 win over Burnley. But there will be some concerns following the victory for the home supporters after captain Cesc Fabregas withdrew with a hamstring problem.

The midfielder had volleyed the Gunners - now level with leaders Chelsea, although having played a match more - in front, before being taken off as a precaution.

Burnley - who had picked up just one point away all season - equalised at the start of the second half through David Nugent, before a fine finish from England forward Walcott and Andrey Arshavin's stoppage-time strike sealed victory.

Hugo Rodallega's eighth Premier League goal of the season put a huge dent in Liverpool's top-four hopes as Wigan won 1-0 at the DW Stadium. The Colombia international volleyed home Emmerson Boyce's 35th-minute cross after Dirk Kuyt had needlessly given away possession close to his own penalty area.

And while it was only sixth-placed Liverpool's second defeat in 11 games it could have done irreparable damage to their chances of finishing fourth as they have now played more games than all of their rivals.

Mikel Arteta struck twice as Everton kept their European push alive with a 5-1 win over Premier League strugglers Hull at Goodison on Sunday. The Spaniard found the net either side of a sublime Tom Cairney equaliser to spare the blushes of profligate striker Ayegbeni Yakubu in the first half at Goodison Park.

The Nigerian hit the post and missed a penalty but it ultimately mattered little as Everton overran their visitors in the second half.

Richard Garcia headed an Arteta cross into his own net and substitutes Landon Donovan, making the final home appearance of his loan spell from Los Angeles Galaxy, and Jack Rodwell completing the rout.

First-half goals from Kevin Davies and Jack Wilshere earned Bolton a 2-1 win over Premier League relegation rivals West Ham at Upton Park. Davies was magnificent throughout and his powerful header gave Bolton the lead before he turned provider, robbing James Tomkins of the ball to tee up 18-year-old Wilshere.

West Ham mounted a spirited comeback after Bolton had Tamir Cohen sent off for two bookable offences in the second half and Alessandro Diamanti curled in a late consolation.

Both sides hit the bar in a frantic finale but Bolton held on for a sixth straight victory over West Ham - and their third this season - which takes them above the Hammers in the table.
No Margin for Error - Rafa
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has reminded his side that there is no margin for error in the fight for a place in the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds' hugely-disappointing season has seen them slip from title contenders in 2008/09 to battling for fourth place in the Premier League. "Manchester City, Tottenham and Aston Villa will be very dangerous so we cannot make many mistakes," said Benitez.

Liverpool have lost just once in the league in their last 10 matches and Benitez knows that form must continue. "We have to keep this momentum and prove, show everyone else, we are good enough," he added.
City 'mugging off' SWP - Wright
Manchester City's hierarchy are not taking Shaun Wright-Phillips seriously as he attempts to secure a new contract, according to Ian Wright.

Wright-Phillips is the adopted son of former Arsenal striker Wright and the latter is furious with City officials Brian Marwood and Garry Cook.

"I tell you what was really awkward, they called him in and he wants to sign his deal, wants to sign for the rest of his career."

But there's these people like (football administration officer) Brian Marwood and (chief executive) Garry Cook mugging him off, treating him like a youth-team player and not someone who actually wants to be there because of what he thinks Manchester City can do."
Group reveal Old Trafford bid
The group of investors known as the Red Knights have confirmed their interest in launching a bid for Manchester United. But the group insist they need support from the club's fans across the world.

The Red Knights are a group of wealthy individuals and they met in London on Monday.

"This group is supportive of current management but are looking at the feasibility of putting together a proposal to be put to the Glazer Family regarding the ownership of Manchester United."

"These discussions are in early stages and no contact has been made with the Glazer Family." Said a statement from the Red Knights group.
Silverware would boost Ramsey
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis believes the best thing the club can now do for injured Aaron Ramsey would be to win a trophy. Ramsey will miss the rest of the season after suffering a horrific double leg fracture in the Gunners' 3-1 success over Stoke City on Saturday.

"It was devastating for the club and I still feel like a little bit of the heart has been ripped out of the club," he said.

"We're all just thinking about Aaron and trying to get him back as quickly as we can to health. I'm pleased to say the operation went well. We're still monitoring his progress, but we're hopeful he'll get back out."

"I think the best thing that we could do for Aaron would be to win a trophy for him this year."
