What is 2UP?
2UP is an exciting new game where you can win hundreds, possibly thousands on guessing the Assist and Scorer of the next goal scored in a football match. If you get the result right, you win!
How do I Play 2UP?
Using your mobile, simply text your pick for the team, Assist and Scorer for the next goal in a Premiership game to shortcode 89287 and we’ll send you a confirmation text to say you’re in!! So, for example, you text - Liverpool Torres Gerrard, or Liverpool 9 8 – to 89287 and you’ll receive a confirmation text back, with the time your bet was entered, to say you’re in for the next goal.
 
Each TXT on this number will cost £2, which is charged directly to you phone bill. We will send you a TXT to verify you are over 18, which you must be to play 2up, but once you’ve sent us this you can play up to 15 times a day on your phone without registering.
 
However, you can also play online at www.play2up.co.uk. You have to register to play but once you’re in you can play on-line or on our registered players text number 84287 against your account. You can play as many times as you like on the registered number as long as you have enough money in your account.
How do I set up a pre-paid account?
It's easy, either register online or call our 2UP Helpline on 0845 389 1112, select option 5 and speak with one of our agents. You’ll be asked for your mobile phone number, date of birth, credit-card details and your address, and the amount you want to add to your account. They’ll process the transaction on the spot, and give you a receipt number. That's it - you’re ready to play.
 
Once this is done, you will be able to start sending your entries to 84287, and we’ll recognize you from your mobile number, and charge your prepaid account £2 for each entry. The TXTs to 84287 will be charged at your network rate.
How can I use my knowledge of football to improve my chances of winning?
Here's a couple of examples that show you how you can use your skill.
 
For example, during a game if you know notice a top striker is not being covered well, and know the striker scores well from corner kicks, pick the player that would usually take the corner kick as the Assist and the Striker to score.
 
Or on the other hand, if the strikers are being covered, but there is a midfielder who has been scoring well, pick a forward for the assist and the midfielder to score.
 
You can put your skills to the test and play as many times as you like throughout the game as a registered player or up to 15 times a day on the 89287 number.
How do I know my entry is in?
You will receive a confirmation TXT from 2UP within about a minute of your entry going in. We will confirm the game, the team, your Assist/Scorer combination, the time of your entry and the prize pool value. Example: "You're in! MU v Che 2UP pick MU Ast: 7-Ronaldo Scr: 26-Saha Pool Value £20,000. Good Luck!"
What happens if there is no goal scored after I enter?
If there is no goal scored after your entry is verified, then you have not won and the pool will roll-over to next games played by the teams in your match. You have to enter again to be eligible for the next game.
When can I play 2UP?
You can only play 2UP anytime. Your entry will be put into the current live game, or if you enter when there is no game running, the next game on our schedule. A schedule of matches is published at www.play2up.co.uk
What if my entry is validated just as a goal is scoreed?
You'll receive a TXT back indicating the time your entry was validated. If your entry is validated before the goal, the TXT will show the time and if you've predicted the right assist and scorer, you win. Otherwise, you will be entered in the pool for the next goal.
What if I put the wrong spelling of the team or player?
2UP entries are run through an interpreter to try to lessen the impact of common texting slip-ups as follows;
  • Team names and player names will be adjusted to the player that best fits e.g. "Sahha" will be interpreted as "Saha" and Manu will be interpreted as Manchester United.
  • Note: player numbers are not adjusted - if you enter a number of a player who is not playing, 2UP will not adjust the entry.
Where can I play 2UP?
You can play 2UP from anywhere on your UK mobile. You must have mobile coverage for your particular service provider in the UK otherwise the TXT will not reach us. You should consult their coverage map for this. This means that you can play from the match venue or whilst watching the game from your couch. And of course, you don’t even need to be watching or listening to play, just TXT away.
Who can play 2UP?
In the UK: Anybody with a mobile phone account BUT you must also be over 18. To play using 84287 or online, you must be registered. To play using 89287 you must send us an age verification text to confirm you are over 18. However, all winners must register to collect.
How much does it cost to play?
In the UK: £2 per entry. Online players may increase their stakes, and the cost of the entry is the stake as set by the player. The only other charge is your TXT to us, which will also be charged at your network rate.
How do I win?
If you get the team/assist/score combination for a selected goal right, you're a winner – instantly. Within seconds of the goal being scored and the assist and scorer is confirmed by the official body, the 2UP system will recognise you as a winner. If this is the case we’ll text you instantly letting you know exactly how much you've won and how to collect. Example: 'Congratulations, you're a 2UP winner! MU 1:0 Che 2UP Pick MU Ast: 7-Ronaldo, Scr: 26-Saha Win code: ADSFAADFEW Go to www.play2up.co.uk/winnings
How much can I win?
The value will depend on the number of entries for each goal (the prize pool), and the number of winners. A prize pool of £5,000 shared amongst 5 winners will return £1,000 each. If there are no winners for a goal, the prize pool value will jackpot, increasing the value of the prize for the next goal. You must enter again though to be eligible for the next goal. Some goals may have guaranteed minimums and, if your entry qualifies – you can win the prize pool plus the minimum. You can find out which goals have minimum win values by looking up the match and over schedule on the web site at www.play2up.co.uk
How do I collect my winnings?
If you get the right combination you will receive a win text from 2UP immediately after a goal, giving the website address to collect winnings and the unique win code. To collect, just visit the website and enter your details.
All winners will be paid via cheque or direct transfer.
All winners will need to prove that they are the owners of the mobile phone from which the 2UP play was made, and that they are 18 years of age or older.
What do I do if I think I've won and I don't receive my text?

What types of goals should I include in my entry?
Include all goals scored in normal play, for which there is an Assist.
So do include:
  • regular play goals with assists
  • corners and penalties with assists
But don’t include:
  • unassisted goals
  • penalty shoot-out goals

How does the prize pool work?
The pool is determined by three elements as follows;
  1. The number of players and winners
  2. The guaranteed minimum pool being offered by PlayUp
  3. The jackpot value of previous goals where there were no winners.
    • So the winning amount depends on the specific 2UP Goal Pool and the amount of winners of the Goal:
    • If you’re the only winner, the entire Goal Pool is yours.
    • If there are multiple winners, the Goal Pool is shared equally according to the amounts staked.
    • If there are no winners, the Goal Pool simply rolls into the next 2UP Goal Pool jackpotting its value. This keeps occurring until the exact Team Assist Scorer combination is picked by one or more players. You must play again to be eligible for the next goal.
How do I know if I have won?

What is a valid entry?
An entry is valid if your entry includes a Team, Assist and Scorer. Teams must be specified by name, Scorers and Assists may be specified by surname or jersey number.
Is there a cut-off time for an entry?
The cut-off time for a goal is as near as possible to the actual goal, but remember that your entry must be received by us and validated (on your phone if you are playing by mobile) before the goal is scored. In the case of SMS, this may take a minute or more.
Is the prize pool common to all countries?
In this version of the game, the prize pools are totally separate for each country.
Is 2UP timed to the match broadcast?
No, 2UP is timed to the match timing, in other words, when it actually happens. This means that with a live broadcast, you will see the event about 8 seconds after it happens at the match.
What happens when I play and a goal is scored, but there is no assist? Is my prediction valid for the next goal?
No, once a goal is scored all plays are classed as invalid. You must play again to be eligible for the next goal.
